Tier 2 Covid information
What are the new rules for alcohol?
According to the Governments COVID-19 winter plan: "Venues that serve alcohol can only remain open where they operate as a restaurant, which means serving substantial meals (and accompanying drinks)."
The guidelines define "substantial meals" as "a full breakfast, main lunchtime or evening meal".
Bar snacks do not count as a substantial meal.
The guidelines state all meals should be a table meal. Guidance states that "a table meal is a meal eaten by a person seated at a table, or at a counter or other structure which serves the purposes of a table".
@Cakes and Bubbles
Guests ordering just desserts with alcohol need to order 2 desserts each from the menu for this to count as a substantial meal. The whole table, must order food to be able to order alcohol.
@Green Bar
Guests need to order one dish each from the menu or a sharing platter for 2 persons. The whole table, must order food in order to have an alcoholic drink.
@Oscar Wilde Lounge
Our afternoon tea menu counts as a substantial meal, therefore no other requirements are necessary when joining us for afternoon tea.
@In Room Dining
