As our Supervisor you will demonstrate a flexible and adaptive hands-on approach in order to assist and support the Manager with the service delivery and retail sales within The Café & Restaurant. You will help to ensure that our team deliver a consistently high standard of personalised service to our guests. Providing fine, yet unobtrusive service is an art and as a member of a skillful management team, you will be responsible for guiding our service team. Passion, knowledge of the latest trends in the London Restaurant scene and confidence are required trademarks for this position to successfully master the elegant delivery of our products and services.
You will of course be passionate about food and drink, with an exceptional knowledge on food and beverages (in particular the making and service of speciality coffees, teas and beverages), in order to train and develop a knowledgeable team skilled in all aspects of F&B and the seamless delivery of service. Situated on London’s busy Regent Street, The Café serves a range of High End Retail products including an indulgent range of pastries, cakes, chocolates and preserves, as well a range of speciality teas and coffees all in keeping with the Café Royal’s history and hallmarks of exceptional quality and style. Your eye for detail and knowledge of both visual merchandising and Retail sales is an important aspect of this role as you will be responsible for the growth and success of our retail product lines.
Your other management duties will see you assisting the Café Manager with recruitment, staff scheduling, finance and payroll and implementing Health & Safety policies and practices within The Café.
As a true Hospitality and Retail professional you will be well versed in both Restaurant and Retail operations and have the finesse to manage a range of Food, Drink & Retail services with both personality and style. Possessing distinct leadership qualities to provide a credible and consistent role model, you will be passionate about excellence in service standards to develop and coach a team skilled in anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations.
It’s likely that you will have a proven and substantial background in a similar role, ideally gained within luxury hospitality,a Similar High End Café, Restaurant or Luxury Retail environment as a Restaurant or Retail Manager. Experience of payroll, scheduling, recruitment, training and performance management will also be advantageous. Your communication skills will be exceptional with the ability and confidence to build strong working relationships at all levels of the business and to connect and converse effectively with guests visiting us from all over the world.
