"I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms"

... so said Oscar Wilde over one hundred years ago. Perhaps he even penned this quote whilst enjoying a glass of Absinthe or a late night supper in our Grill Room, now renamed the Oscar Wilde Lounge in his honour. Whilst we do not disagree, there has been another art form firmly on the rise since our namesake's heyday; culinary art.

In celebration of our award-winning afternoon tea service (Best Traditional Afternoon Tea 2017) which takes centre stage daily in the Oscar Wilde Lounge, we have joined forces with the makers of the Oscar Wilde Season, a collection of some of Oscar Wilde's most beloved plays, set within the historic surroundings of the Vaudeville Theatre.

Enjoy a beautifully composed day out including Champagne afternoon tea in the Oscar Wilde Lounge and Band A tickets to one of the Oscar Wilde Season productions.

An Ideal Husband

20 April - 14 July

The Rolls-Royce of English comedies, Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband explores corruption and morality, bringing an act of political sin into the heart of the English home. A witty new production by Jonathan Church starring father and son duo Edward and Freddie Fox and Frances Barber.

The Importance Of Being Earnest

20 July - 20 October

Widely considered one of the funniest plays in English, Wilde’s much loved masterpiece throws love, logic and language into the air to make one of theatre’s most dazzling firework displays. Jack, Algy, Gwendolyn and Cecily discover how unsmooth runs the course of true love, while Lady Bracknell keeps a baleful eye on the mayhem of manners. Starring Olivier-Award winner Sophie Thompson, Jeremy Swift of Downton Abbey fame, Sinéad Matthews and Fiona Button.
