Change your approach to fitness

No matter the time of year, we often find ourselves on a journey of improvement. It is human nature to be a better version of your past self, especially after a particularly indulgent holidays. To ensure you have an effective jump start to a healthier lifestyle, we have spoken to our beloved fitness expert Dogan Yildiz some advice to jump start the year. Dogan recommends that you set 7 goals as your first step and suggests this to anyone that approaches him to change the way they train.

Dogan’s 7 step goal setting guide

1. Decide exactly what you want
Imagine that when it came to getting whatever you want, there were no limitations. No matter what your fitness goal is, how would it look like?

2. Write it down
You got only 30 seconds. Don’t plan or overthink – take a piece of paper and write it down. Vividly describing your goals in written form is strongly associated with goal success.

3. Set a deadline
There is nothing like a strict deadline to help you prioritise your workflow. Your deadline is forcing you to stay on task so you will move on to other tasks later.

4. Identify your obstacles
Write every obstacle down that could occur and find a solution to overcome your obstacles.

5. Identify the right people
Don’t ask your friends, family or the guy next door. An important aspect of finding the right trainer is ensuring that he or she is qualified to do the job and has proven success in their specialist area.

6. Self-discipline
It’s the bridge between goals and accomplishment. Develop the habit of completing your tasks.

7. Visualise your goals
The last step and perhaps the most powerful technique to accomplish your goals!

Happy Training!
