Guy Fawkes Night-Bonfire Night

Every 5th of November, skies across the UK light up in celebration of Guy Fawkes Night. The event dates to 1605, when a group of Catholic conspirators attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in what became known as the Gunpowder Plot. Their plan was foiled, and one of the most famous plotters, Guy Fawkes, was captured guarding barrels of gunpowder beneath the Palace of Westminster. The night is celebrated with fireworks displays, bonfires, and the burning of Guy Fawkes effigies. In London, major parks and venues host family-friendly events with food stalls, fairground rides, and live entertainment.
